My partner and I visited Sugoi Sushi for happy hour on Thursday, and from the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a wonderful host who was kind, attentive, and offered great recommendations. Since it was our first visit, we weren’t sure what to expect. We started with the crispy rice and red wine, followed by the Toyosu Nigiri Set, which included five pieces of the chef’s selection. Every piece was perfection: unique, incredibly fresh, and beautifully prepared. I especially enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking with the owner and chef. They were both extremely kind and welcomed all of our questions about the food and everything they were preparing. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but that was part of what made the experience so special. I love intimate restaurants where you can truly take in the beauty and detail of the décor. Sugoi Sushi is located in what used to be a meat market, and it is absolutely the best replacement that could have come in. This is, without a doubt, the best sushi in Dallas. Absolutely fantastic. Best sushi we've had in Dallas. Everything was fresh and made with care. We sat at the sushi bar and the chefs made sure each piece of nigiri was a tasty work of art. We also had a terrific sake that was served in a container that kept the sake ice cold without watering it down. We'll definitely be back soon.

Sugoi Sushi delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. We chose the 18-course omakase, and every single course was exceptional. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—knowing it was flown in from Japan made the quality even more impressive. What really sets Sugoi Sushi apart is that it isn’t just dinner; it’s an experience. The sushi chef was incredibly skilled and took the time to walk us through each course, explaining the ingredients, preparation, and what made each piece unique. It added a personal touch that elevated the entire evening. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night—intimate, welcoming, and relaxed without feeling pretentious. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. Every bite felt thoughtfully crafted, and the balance of flavors was outstanding. If you’re looking for a memorable omakase experience in Dallas, Sugoi Sushi is absolutely worth it. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Came around 11 am on Saturday and experienced great, friendly service. Food is delicious! We both ordered the 5 sushi hand rolls off the happy hour menu and it did not disappoint. Each bite took us back to Japan. Finished off with mochi (Green tea / strawberry mix) so yummy!! Can’t wait to come back.

Came with my friend for an early dinner and we were able to catch happy hour. The restaurant is nicely decorated and we sat at the sushi bar. The customer service we received from Kam and the sushi chef was excellent! I would come back off that alone! Their happy hour menu is good with a variety of options to choose from. The drink selection is decent and I settled on wine. We started off with the gyoza, sake carpaccio, and crispy rice. I thoroughly enjoyed the gyoza and sake carpaccio! If you don’t mind fried foods, then you’ll enjoy the crispy rice option. Also, the shrimp tempura was good and has a lighter batter. I then ordered the classic nigiri set, A5 Wagyu, and toro hand rolls. The fish was delicious, fresh, and crafted nicely! I enjoyed the nigiri so much I ordered an additional hamachi, chutoro, and otoro! I also sampled my friend’s order of the sugoi roll and we enjoyed this. Overall, this is an amazing spot and I look forward to returning!
